Throughout the past three years, GLB invest has secured 87,000 hectare land in Sudan, with the necessary water rights over the Nile River, and acquisition from 220 owners of a 7km corridor and a 300m x 200m bank on the Nile. These resources, combined with a dedicated and highly skilled team led GLB to successfully complete the first development stage which consisted of 40 pivots, all planted with alfalfa since September 2013. The second development stage, which consists of 23 pivots, has been operational since October 2014. All 63 pivots representing 3,150 hectares are designed for alfalfa as a primary crop.
